*happy*
what are the things that make you happy right now? like real happiness, not the kind that we see on TV. the kind of happiness that we love feeling for example, i feel happy when i'm helping others. a few months ago i went with a friend to downtown Atlanta and fed the homeless. at first glance i was afraid of them. why? because i thought they might come attack me, but no they were grateful for us being there and feeding them. once i realized that i was making them happy, i became happy and began to smile more and say God bless you. the longer i was there i felt like i should do it more often. just giving them donuts means the world to them. i love the homeless ministries, it is truly an eye opener, to see people hungry, cold and sleeping on the sidewalk. it brings me happiness to fed them and talk to them but it also breaks my heart to know that i'm rich compared to them. this verse in the bible is one to remember:
"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love." Galatians 5:13
so what does it say? it says we should serve one another humbly in love. why? because that is what God calls us to do. i don't want to waste me life only thinking about myself, i want to help others not only with their necessities but also with their spiritual lives. so i encourage you to find a homeless ministry near you and serve there for a day, once you walk out of there you will be so grateful for your life, your food, everything. and even if you can't find a homeless ministry, serve your elder relatives or neighbors. help any person you come into contact with. until next time! be happy!
