*fall retreat 2019... it was WILD MAN!*
hey fam! what's up? i just got home from our fall retreat! i'm so excited to share all the great things i've learned this weekend! in this post i'm going to talk about my overall experience and all the fun things that we did. in later posts i'll go into more detail of all the talks and sessions we had.
let me start by saying that all the newcomers were so open and loving! i loved that they had no problem talking to all of us and just having open hearts and minds. i grew closer to my friends and made a bunch of new friends that want to keep coming to life teen and our retreats! i'm so happy about that!
i feel like i grew very close to the girls in our cabin....cabin 1. we laughed to the point of crying and then laughed some more! they are all true blessings in my life! i'm so glad God allowed me to meet them! Nicole has the best laugh. Prequel has the best smile. Sequel has the biggest heart. Yari has the best humor. Isabeau has the best positivity. and last but not least Ana has the kindest soul. thanks girls for making this weekend the best ever! we've been there for each other through burned marshmallows, midnight cry/laughs, and the early singing and dancing wake up calls...thanks Kiesha and AG! i can't wait until spring retreat 2020! just 5 months away. then after that, 3 months later Steubenville ATL rolls around!
thanks to all the core leaders and Krissy! y'all work so hard for us! there aren't enough thank yous in the world! and to the boys! y'all were such gentlemen! thanks for allowing us to eat before y'all and for opening the doors for us. i really appreciate that! i still have my rose ;) walking up to the boys cabin and having them all standing in a line with roses in their hands, i kinda felt like i was on the bachelorette! us girls were very impressed and grateful for y'all.
this weekend helped me grow closer to God and to my friends. i went to confession and y'all! confession is my new favorite thing! it is the first time i actually enjoyed it or better yet, loved it! the priest was so understanding and helpful! i felt so relieved to let go of some of the garbage i had been carrying. it felt so good to repent and leave it at the foot of the cross. i felt more free than ever before. i'm starting a new routine that involves God in more ways then i had been before i left on the retreat. the outcome of this weekend was so life changing. and i'm so grateful that i had the opportunity to go.
i hope you enjoyed reading my overall experience! i will be posting more blogs about the retreat soon! stay tuned!
sayings we only understand:
wild man. noah's your father. it was the cats. burned marshmallows that hit rocks.
dank memes compel ERWIN! cabin 1. there's an ashleigh for everyone.
until next time!
