how to make your own creative corner
how do you make your own creative corner? do you feel sometimes like painting but don't have a place for it? or you have paint but think you aren't a good enough artist? for me i just do it. all art is good because it shows people the way you think and feel. i love painting! it's like therapy and the best part is your doing something that's good for your mind. here are a few of my tips for creating a functional, yet comfortable creative corner.
1. you need the perfect space. that may take sometime to find. since we moved to Georgia i have always had my own creative corner, whether it was in the basement or in my room. right now i have it in my room in a corner with 2 windows to look out of. i have my paints, paper, brushes and everything else that i use to be artistic. sometimes i have these random creative moments when all i want to do is paint or redecorated. sometimes my room smells like paint, my nightstand has dried up flower petals on it and i have white Christmas lights hung up. these are all examples of my random creative moments. pinterest has a lot of ideas for decorating your creative corner.
2. you need the tools. for example, paint, pencils, paper, brushes and anything that you need to be creative. for my birthday last year my uncle and aunt in Arizona sent me an art box. i love it so much! it brought so many cool things, and still there is a lot i haven't used yet!
3. make sure you don't get any paint anywhere. this one is still a problem for me. i have a lot of stained paint on my bedroom carpet (don't tell my dad!) why? because i stroke hard and the paint goes flying. most of the paint lands on my legs, carpet or my art table (my trunk from an old thrift store). i love to get paint on my hands and getting messy because it is the mark of a true artist.
4. have fun! this is my favorite part! get messy! no brush stroke is an accident and no piece of art is trash. every piece has its imperfections, that's my favorite part of art, if you messed something up, it looks like it was meant to be that way.
i hope this post helped you rekindle the artist in you!
