are you quick to judge?

ohhh this post is gonna be good! i am so quick to judge! like i see a girl with tattoos all over her body,  and i think "ohhh this girl is crazy!" for real! i have a core leader in my life teen who has a bunch of piercings on both ears. and immediately i started to judge. but once i got to know her, i realized that she is the nicest person i've ever met! (don't tell anyone but she's my favorite!) and i know we all are quick to judge, it's kinda in our nature. but the best thing to do is catch ourselves and start to think about other things. and definitely ask God for forgiveness. God doesn't like when we do this because this means we are judging the humans He made. so your saying the creation He made isn't perfect, but the person is perfect... in God's eyes. like Matthew 7:3 says: "Why do you notice the piece of dust in your friend's eye, but you don't notice the big piece of wood in your own eye.?" this means we shouldn't judge other people's problems, but we should be concerned with our own problems and think about how we're going to fix them.

my favorite quick to judge quote is: don't criticize what you don't understand. what does this mean? this means that we don't know this person's life, so you can't judge someone you don't know. right? another one of my favorites is: there's a story behind every person. there's a reason why they're the way they are. think about that before you judge someone. this one is really powerful because it helps us to realize that we all have this fault, and yes, we don't know what that person is going through or went through. their past made them who they are now.

i'm not the same person i was a year ago or even a day ago. i can choose to better myself everyday or choose to just be the same and not change. obviously i choose to better myself everyday because i want to strive for greatness. (in that last sentence i sounded like my dad!) i don't want to be like everyone else and just go through the motions.

if you are the type of person who judges all the time, i'd recommend you to pray and ask God to help you overcome it. if you feel like your prayer hasn't been answered, you just have to give it time. also my aunt told me to pray the St.Therese novena for something i was going through back in May, and it really helped. my prayer was answered 6 days into the 9 days. i'll attach the novena link to the bottom of this post. the novena isn't the same one i did, but it is just as good!

i hope this advise will help you not to be quick to judge but to notice the big piece of wood in your own eye! until next time, stop judging yo friends!
