Announcing Stella Maris ☆
hey y'all! welcome back to the blog! so today i'm announcing Stella Maris!
for a long time i have been thinking about opening up a second hand clothing business. and after a long time of thinking and prepping, it's finally open for business.
it all starts with this simple little sentence: WHO AM I?
hi, i'm sophia. i'm a CHILD OF GOD. i love going on new adventures, i love making people feel special and i love smiling. i can't be serious for too long because i find everything funny, i really love laughing with my friends. i love taking pictures and writing, and my favorite way to spend time with God is being outside in His creation. my favorite book in the bible is revelations and i hate the smell of ketchup & peanut butter. that's me in a somewhat nutshell.
the background of why i'm doing this is because i want to sell clothing that is modest. shirts that aren't to low and shorts that aren't too short. i always have dressed modesty. my parents taught me to be modest in what i wear since i was basically born. in today's society women are taught that the more skin you show the more attention you will receive. but that's not true because God didn't make us to glorify the world and our bodies, He made us to reflect Him in ourselves. i believe that one woman can change the world. if she tells her friends and they change, the whole world will change. it's a rippled effect.
i want you to start a rippled effect today. pick something you believe in and tell the whole world about it. talk to your friends about it, post it on your social media platforms. i'm telling you, we all have the potential to change our society and the lies we have believed in. our world is so distorted and messed up that we will believe anything just to feel love or to get attention.
we all have to remember that our main title in life is CHILD OF GOD, and we have to reflect that title in our lives. not only in the way we dress but in the way we speak and act. SPEAK LIFE not DEATH. i hope that with starting Stella Maris i can really touch women's lives and help them realize that they were created for much more.
so with purchasing something from our store, you will be funding the new society of women who are stepping up to change the world. modesty matters and we as women should care about being modest. and i don't mean modesty as dressing from head to toe, but dress classy and wearing clothes that reflect who you are. clothing really reflects the type of person you are. i love reflecting my personality into what i wear because it shows people who i really am. i love wearing bright colors and matching my jewelry and purse to the outfit. and sometimes i like to wear outfits that don't match because sometimes in life we become dull and like everyone else. and with changing my wardrobe, making it a little different than other people's, i feel like i'm being my own person. the person God created me to be.
why did we pick the name Stella Maris? we picked that name because it is a name given to Our Lady. in english it means Star of the Sea. and it came up many times throughout the last few months, so we thought it was a sign from Her.
