filters and imperfections
so today i'm going to be talking about filters. recently i've been getting into retro/vintage filters and i thought why do people use filters anyway? we use them because it makes the picture look better than reality. it's an artificial way to look good, but anything artificial isn't good for you. and yet we still do it. why do we do this? because we think reality looks better in different colors or you just think the real world isn't better than a filter. the lighting might be off, you look too white and use a filter to make yourself darker. easy right? whatever it might be we use these filters to cover up our scars, imperfections and real self.
"without imperfections neither you nor i would exist."
what does this mean? this means we are made up of flaws and imperfections, so don't try to fix them because those imperfections make you, you. don't try to fix all your body problems because when we get to heaven God is going to see us with all the plastic surgery's. and He may say one of the two things. 1. "who are you?" He isn't going to recognize us with all the things we've done to ourselves. 2. "why did you change the temple I made for you?" then you are going to finally understand what it means to love yourself and your imperfections. if God can love them, then you could and should be able to love them too. and i get it sometimes you don't like how you looked in picture because you looked fat or it showed your rolls. but you know what? God loves all of that! all the things that you think are wrong, God made them to be right.
i have a challenge for you, the next time you post a picture on any social media platform don't use a filter. let the world see your imperfections and scars, because they make you beautiful.
until next time, stay beautiful!
